Danny

About Me : Danny was thrown out of a car by his cruel owner and ran frantically, up and down the 3 mile stretch where he was abandoned, for over two weeks, until he collapsed in a field. He was in terrible shape. Wounds covered his body and bones stuck out of a starved body that indicated a long time of neglect and abuse. He also had a broken back. Danny is now recovering. He needs careful, quiet handling until his back heals some more. He is only about 1 to 2 years old, and will probably never walk normally. However, he is alive and determined to make the best of the second chance he has been given. He is one of the reasons that Animals in Distress is called the Kennel of Hope.

Now he can be the puppy he never had a chance to be, and we say a daily prayer that he will continue to regain the use of his hind legs. He is able to walk now, although he is a bit wobbly. Maybe time will work a miracle for him. In the meantime, he will have a safe refuge at our shelter.
